At the Perplexity AI Business Fellowship today, we hosted, Aaron Levie , CEO of Box.

And the session was a masterclass.

If you’ve followed my posts, especially on the AI-First memos, you already know I’m a big Aaron fan. That just 10x-ed today.

Here are the headline takeaways for builders and strategists.

1. Hunt “do‑nothing” white space.

AI’s real upside is converting manual drudgery nobody ever touched before, and Enterprises choose to 'do nothing' every year.

AI can create net‑new revenue pools.

2. Unstructured → structured is the gold rush.

Contracts, invoices, resumes. AI can now read them, extract fields and trigger downstream actions. That unlocks the “do‑nothing” white space where manual review was too costly.

3. Prioritise high‑repeat workflows where a pre‑prompted agent can deliver >10× leverage over manual prompting.

4. Audit permission graphs early. Insecure or inconsistent ACLs will derail PoCs faster than hallucinations.

5. Package AI value in business terms (contracts processed, days saved), not tech metrics (tokens).

6. Design for model swap‑ability. Keep agent logic outside proprietary model features until cross‑vendor parity emerges.

Use these lenses to evaluate defensible AI plays in any enterprise vertical where repeatability, permission complexity, and latent unstructured data converge.

Read on for a more detailed note on Aaron's perspectives.
